Just got back from a trip to LA to see the little LA family (boys actually not so little these days!) While there I shook the hand of Loretta Weinberg, New Jersey State Senate Majority Leader, who Vanity Fair called “the crusader” — the instigator of Bridgegate. Our daughters are neighbors and good friends. She is 79 and says (in the Vanity Fair story (August 2014) that “she knew a cover-up was going on ‘the minute I heard (Bill Baroni) open his mouth’ to testify.” In the article she goes on to say “I attribute my investigative experience to the fact that I raised adolescents.”
It was a memorable and inspiring meeting for me (who just turned 70).

Judy and Loretta in her daughter’s kitchen across the street from my daughter.
I also spent a whole day in the company of Moms, Dads and kids at Venice Beach. The kids had boogie boards, the moms and dads came equipped with sunscreen, food, blankets, towels, umbrellas and conversation. AND my daughter surfed!

Oliver on his boogie board — he was out there the whole day, just coming in to eat a quick lunch.

Emmett spent some of the time creating in the sand.

I asked Cully’s friend Kim if I could photograph her feet. She laughed and said yes — a lovely woman.
