- Have identified this beautiful bird as a Red Shouldered hawk.
He has been hanging out around our bird feeders along with the squirrels, deer, turkeys and lots of songbirds. We haven’t seen him catch anything yet, but he is our guy. Their range is pretty permanent, so he is the one we have seen all summer. With 21″ of snow on the ground and 6″ more today expected, the birds are loading up.
